Climate Penpal
Sustainability Certificate Program
The Climate Penpal Programme will recognize participating students with Sustainability Certificates, following the model of the Duke of Edinburgh programme's Bronze, Silver and Gold medals. These certificates will be awarded based on the completion of progressively challenging tasks related to sustainability and net-zero commitments.
To ensure the effectiveness and relevance of the Sustainability Certificate Program, the Global Ambassadors Advisory Board will convene stakeholders from various sectors to develop clear criteria for certification. This will involve identifying essential sustainability skills and promoting their adoption before students graduate high school. The criteria will be informed by input from academia, government, and industry stakeholders.

Objectives of the program:
- Provide high school students with an introduction to sustainability.
- Introduce possible sustainability-related professional careers and professional roles.
- Familiarize students with Sustainability & Net Zero Glossary (i.e. carbon footprint, sustainable development, net zero, ESG, etc.)
- Promote carbon counting tools among students to monitor and reduce their carbon footprint
Topics covered by the program:
- What Is Sustainability?
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
- Fundamentals of Climate Change
- Climate Policies and Diplomacy (i.e. COP summits)
- Greenwashing and How to Prevent It
- Introduction to Reporting Mechanisms for Companies
- One Week ESG Student Internships

Climate Penpal Project Producer: GI Intelligence Unit
The GI “Intelligence Unit” will be the principal production team tasked with delivering the Climate Penpal project -- as part of its work it will elevate the profile of the campaign with the schools and help educate their students on their carbon footprint, as well as inform a wider stakeholder audience through the development of Thought Leadership platforms, whether live in-person events produced in partnership with academic institutions or online events and content published across social media channels, including YouTube, X, LinkedIn, as well as streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
Podcast
The Climate Penpal Intelligence Unit will produce a series of pre-recorded podcasts and live webinars with esteemed speakers to dive into key themes aligned with a client’s external messaging and business development goals. We leverage speakers’ expertise, our own in-depth analyses, and the latest news developments to get current and relevant insights during the 30-minute event.
The Intelligence Unit produces the A to Z of the Podcast Series, from scripting, casting, and designing collateral, to moderating, training and prepping the client host, to technical production and content harvest. Both audio and video versions of Podcasts will be edited and published on YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, and a podcast platform of the clients choices such a Sound Cloud or Spotify.

Short Form Content
The Intelligence Unit will harvest content from podcasts into bite size formats that can be easily shared across a client’s social media platforms:
